The Act of Holding On begets Worldly Rewards and the Act of Letting Go begets Unseen Rewards

Holding on and letting go – this thought is a constant companion of mine as I have the tendency to hold on to, well, everything! There is something currently transpiring in this country that portrays these two different types of behavior. In a nutshell - one person is holding on (to power), and another is letting go (not reacting) to go about his business and his duties. You know what I am talking about. Holding on seems to bring inner turmoil whereas letting go brings inner peace. The difference is well manifested in their countenances.

I know I am reacting, but I just want to say –

ENOUGH ALREADY!

A quote from Bertrand Russell comes to mind – “Life is nothing but a competition to be the criminal rather than the victim.” I’m sure people with this kind of mindset are not in short supply among the rich and powerful. (Full disclosure – I learned about this quote while watching the latest “Fargo” series on TV.)

A voice from a faraway dreamland: “Painting helps to let go and to act. If each person finds that place or thing that they can immerse themselves in and appreciate the process, it would be a more peaceful world. Perhaps the GDP will not grow as much or we’ll have to find a better way of measuring our prosperity and well-being. I hope everyone finds his/her special place or thing to keep a sane mind and to gain inner peace!”
